At Infinity Plates, we supply road-legal replacement number plates made to UK requirements.

To produce and dispatch road-legal plates, we must receive proof of identity and proof of entitlement to the registration number. This helps protect customers, prevent misuse and keep every road-legal order compliant.

Documents Required for Road-Legal Plates

Before we produce road-legal plates, you will need to provide:

  1. Proof of identity

This confirms who you are. Accepted examples may include:

Driving licence
Passport
Bank or building society card
Utility bill, Council Tax bill or bank statement showing your name and address
National identity card

  1. Proof of entitlement to the registration number

This confirms you are entitled to use the registration number. Accepted examples may include:

V5C vehicle registration certificate/logbook
V750 certificate of entitlement
V778 retention document
V948 electronic number plate authorisation certificate
A valid lease or hire agreement showing the registration number

When Documents Are Checked

You can upload your documents during checkout or send them to us after ordering.

Your road-legal plates will not be produced or dispatched until the required documents have been received and checked.

Show Plates

If you choose show plates, you do not need to send proof of ID or proof of entitlement.

Show plates are made for display, events, photos, private land or off-road use only. They are not supplied as road-legal number plates and must not be fitted to a vehicle for use on public roads.

If you need plates for road use, please choose road-legal plates and provide the required documents before production and dispatch.

Road-Legal Plate Rules

Road-legal number plates must meet UK requirements, including correct spacing, approved character style, reflective material and correct front/rear colours.

For road use, front plates must display black characters on a white background and rear plates must display black characters on a yellow background.

Important Notice

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the registration entered is correct and that the plates ordered are suitable for their intended use.

Incorrectly displayed number plates may result in fines, MOT failure or other issues when used on public roads.At Infinity Plates, we supply replacement number plates made to UK requirements. For road-legal plates, we must check proof of identity and proof that you are entitled to the registration number.

Proof of identity
Accepted examples include a driving licence, passport, bank or building society card, recent utility bill, Council Tax bill, bank statement or national identity card.

Proof of entitlement
Accepted examples include a V5C vehicle registration certificate, V750 certificate of entitlement, V778 retention document or V948 electronic number plate authorisation certificate.

When documents are checked
After checkout, we’ll contact you to complete the document checks required for road-legal plates. Production starts only after approval.

Show plates
Show plates do not require document checks. They are for display, events, photos, private land or off-road use only and must not be used on public roads.
